MY EXPERIENCE
If you're considering working with me, you might want to know a little more about me — so here we go!
I've spent over 20 years working in the creative industries — progressing from work experience and entry-level roles, through to Head of Production and Lecturer in Visual and Creative Arts.
I’ve managed everything from small personal projects to large-scale corporate campaigns, leading teams, negotiating budgets and producing television campaigns and short films for major Scottish and UK brands. I know what it takes to take a creative idea from concept to completion, under real pressure, with real budgets, for real clients.
Alongside that, I've always been a maker. I grew up drawing and painting, and over the years I've explored illustration, calligraphy, watercolours, graphic design, writing and art psychotherapy. I'm also the founder of Bold Bairns — a creative brand celebrating bold, imaginative childhood through hand-drawn design. Creative making isn't just something I teach or manage — it's something I genuinely live.
For over 10 years I've also taught and mentored in Further and Higher Education as a Visual and Creative Arts Lecturer — students from school age to BA degree level.
I hold an MFA in Advanced Film Practice, an MA in Italian and History of Art, a PGCert Teaching Qualification for Further Education — and a fair few other wee qualifications (I love learning!).
I know how people learn, how they get stuck — and more importantly, how to help them move forward.
