GET INTO 'CREATIVE HEADSPACE'
There is no big secret to getting into ‘creative headspace’.
You need to find what works for you – what allows your mind to relax and therefore be open to inspiration.
Pick one of these ideas as a starting point. Adapt it if you need to.
Browse an art gallery for an hour.
Go for a long walk in nature.
Have a long bath with candles and nice music.
Watch a film you wouldn’t normally watch.
Do some gardening.
Tidy your Monica cupboard — yes, really!
Listen to a guided meditation.
Make a cup of tea and look out the window for a while.
Doodle on a large sheet of paper.
Bake something you’ve never baked before.
Go for a cup of tea with a friend.
Read your favourite novel again.
Put on some classical music and lie on the sofa listening.
Clean like you’ve never cleaned before!
Write a To-Do list and offload the pressure.
Sit in a café and people-watch.
Take a long, slow drive.
Take a wee wander through your local botanical gardens.
Have a wee dram of whisky!
Play a board game.
Take yourself to the cinema, alone.
Write a letter/ postcard and post it.
Look through some old photos.
Take a wee nap under a lovely soft blanket.
Walk to the top of a mountain to admire the view.
Feed the ducks at your local park.
Take a walk round a graveyard — yes really!
Swim a few lengths.
Visit an old neighbour and listen to them.
Watch life through a child’s eyes.
